Optivon's senior management team has substantial experience in telecommunications and information services, as well as key functional areas including sales and marketing, engineering, network operations and contact center services.
Luis G. Romero, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Romero has focused his entire career on the telecommunications industry. A seasoned entrepreneur, he founded Optivon based on his assessment of market needs and is directly responsible for the company's strategy and operations. He has also been an active participant in the venture capital industry. In 1986, Mr. Romero founded Codecom Rural Communications, a fixed cellular telephone manufacturer, which was acquired by Telular in 1991 and subsequently went public. Mr. Romero holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Florida.
Rafael Morales, Vice President and Director
Mr. Morales joined Optivon in 1995 and currently occupies the position of Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors. In previous roles, he was Vice President for Optivon's Latin America affiliate, and General Manager for Ticopager, Optivon's Costa Rica former subsidiary. Prior to joining Optivon, Mr. Morales was the Director for Motorola's Latin America paging joint venture division. He is a Licensed Electrical Engineer and holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
Anastasio Alicea Zayas, Director, Operations
Mr. Alicea joined Celpage in 1995 from TPI upon the merger of the companies. At TPI, he served as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Alicea holds an Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology in Puerto Rico and is an FCC-licensed radio Telecommunications Engineer.
